As the number of reworked champions in League of Legends continues to grow, it is no surprise that Riot Games has landed on Morgana. Morgana is a champion that has been around in League for a while now and, if not a full rework, is well deserving of a VGU. Based on current information from the dev diary video posted on YouTube, it looks like both Morgana and Kayle will receive reworks at the same time. The video states that Morgana’s rework will be closer to a VGU than a full ground-up rework but the dev team will be working to make her ultimate more rewarding to use while also changing character design to closer represent who they want her to be as a champion. It sounds like her core kit will remain mostly the same but will receive some updating to make it more modern and appealing to players. Among these updates, the Champion Roadmap reads that her gameplay changes will likely revolve around her “Passive” or “W” to make them more tuned to her new kit.
Based on the Champion Roadmap it is likely that we will see more about the reworks or even a PBE release in late February or early March. That being said it could take a little longer as Riot is working on a new Support Champion that will be released in the coming weeks. Things are definitely interesting for League this year and time will tell how the reworks and ranked/gameplay changes pan out.
