If you are like any other PC user, you probably keep your desktop organized in some way or another. Whether that be folders, grouping icons in certain areas, or whatever you probably have some kind of system for this. If you are looking to get even more organized or just make your de4sktop look less cluttered, there is a cool program called Nimi Places that groups icons together in blocks on your desktop.
There are different themes to choose from that allow you to customize the blocks how you please. The resizing feature is super useful so you are only using the amount of space you need for all your programs. You can also name the blocks to whatever you like. For example, I have a block called “Games” and I use it specifically for games I download off steam, origin, etc. This program is super useful and has helped me a lot with organization on the desktop without having to rummage through folders.
To setup a new container after installing right click on the Nimi icon in the windows taskbar icons tray at the bottom right of your desktop (you may have to click the arrow pointing up for it to be visible).
Then go to open settings and click the plus on the bottom left of the menu that appears and click “Place”. Once you have done that simply select the folder you want to make a container for and click somewhere on the desktop to place it. At this point you can move the container around and customize it as you please. You can even drag more programs into the container.
If you would like to group icons into blocks with a little more options, you can try “Fences” for the lovely price of $9.99. Both of these programs are extremely helpful for organizing your windows desktop and can lead to an increase in efficiency in both work and play.
