With League of Legends season 9 underway, Riot Games has been hard at work on changes and improvements to the game. Over the past few months we have been fortunate to see reworks done on champions with very much outdated kits. One of the more impressive (or unimpressive) things that Riot Games has been able to do is release new champions with their own special mechanics. When Neeko was released we saw a new mechanic in being able to copycat ally champions and with Sylas we the ability steal the ultimate ability from an enemy and use it against them (stealing Karthus ult much op). With that being said, it is about time for the release of another champion.
According to the dev diary uploaded to Riot’s YouTube channel the new champion will be a more light-hearted style than the past support (Pyke) and will be a traditional enchanter support like champions such as Nami. The picture seen in the video is a book with various magical nick nacks. The book itself has a design on the front with what appears to be a branch with leaves and a sapphire colored crystal in the middle (perhaps the source of the champions power). It also appears that the champion may have some kind of applied buffs judging by the purplish potion the back right of the image. As stated in the video the new champion will be a traditional support but, ironically, will not be completely by the book and will carry on the trend of having a new mechanic unique to that champion as all recently released (and reworked) champions have had.
Looking forward it seems as though Riot Games has been keeping busy with new champion reworks and designs. With that being said this coming year looks to be an exciting one for League of Legends.
